Education, Support & Membership
Do I get access to my provider between appointments?
Yes. You’ll have access to your care team through secure messaging. Response times vary by tier, but all patients receive personalized responses.
Can I cancel or change my membership?
Yes. Memberships are preferred to be at least 6 months in duration. Change takes time. Most patients see great results and stay with us for several years. Remember, your health is ongoing and having a team of experts working with you is invaluable. All charges are month-to-month. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel with appropriate notice.
Do you treat kids or adolescents?
We currently only treat adults aged 18 and older. Our model is best suited for those motivated to take ownership of their health and ready for in-depth care.
How long does it take to see results?
Most clients see measurable improvement in energy, sleep, weight, or biomarkers within 4–8 weeks. That said, health transformation is a long game—we aim for sustainable, lifelong change.
How do I sign up?
Fill out our brief intake form online. You’ll then be scheduled for a free 15-minute consult with our physician to see if we’re the right fit. From there, we initiate labs and build your plan.
General FAQs
What is Beyond Health and how is it different from traditional healthcare?
Beyond Health is a Minnesota and Wisconsin only concierge telehealth-only medical service focused on optimizing healthspan through evidence-based care in primary care, hormone optimization, nutrition, fitness, and longevity medicine. Unlike traditional models, we don’t rush visits or wait for disease—we proactively manage health through continuous, personalized care. One of our great strengths is our frequent touch-points with patients. We continuously shape and evolve goals to get the patient where they want to be.
Is Beyond Health really 100% virtual?
Yes. All medical, nutrition, and fitness services are delivered via secure telehealth. We integrate wearable data, home testing, and digital communication to eliminate the need for in-person visits—without sacrificing quality or depth.
Do you replace my primary care doctor?
No. We still recommend maintaining a relationship with another PCP as we can often get you significant cost savings by working with them for lab orders and other services. Think of Beyond Health as an expert supplement. We stay current and ahead on what most providers are unable or unwilling to. For our highest tier of service, we do offer telemedicine appropriate primary care. If there is something you are experiencing that we triage as urgent or emergent, we will recommend you see your local PCP, urgent care or ER. We’re always happy to collaborate and provide high-level optimization and oversight.
What makes Beyond Health concierge care?
Concierge care means we limit our patient panel to under 200 individuals, per provider team, ensuring extended visit time, rapid response, and deep relationship-based care. You won’t be rushed or shuffled through fragmented care—you’ll have a physician-led team who knows you well.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat and manage chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, hormone imbalance, obesity, metabolic syndrome, sleep disorders, fatigue, and more. We also focus on prevention, athletic performance, cognitive health, and longevity—even before symptoms emerge.
What does a typical visit look like?
Initial visits are 60 or so minutes and involve deep history-taking, lab review, and goal setting. Follow-up visits are 15-30 minutes. Visits are conducted over video and feel more like an executive health consult than a rushed primary care check-in. These are rough estimates. We take our time and make sure questions are answered.
Can you order imaging like X-rays or MRIs?
Usually. Depending on what insurance you have and what your local clinic/hospital allows, we can order imaging, referrals, or additional testing as needed. While our model is virtual, we often coordinate with local radiology or physical therapy providers for hands-on needs.
How do I contact my provider between visits?
You’ll have direct access via a secure patient portal for messaging your physician, dietitian, or physical therapist. Depending on your tier, you may also have access via text messaging. Keep in mind, plans need some time to work and develop. In our experience, most of the messaging between appointments is more related to clarification or side-effects.
Hormone Optimization & Longevity
Do you offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?
Yes. We offer physician-guided TRT using injectables, topical gels, or oral agents like clomiphene or enclomiphene. All prescriptions are tailored to your physiology and goals, with routine labs and clinical monitoring to ensure safety and efficacy.
Do you treat women with hormone imbalances or menopause symptoms?
Absolutely. We offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for women using estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone when appropriate. Each plan is personalized, based on labs, symptoms, and individual risk profiles.
How do I know if I need HRT?
We assess symptoms, run detailed hormone panels, and consider your age, lifestyle, and long-term health goals. HRT is not about “anti-aging”—it’s about restoring balance, function, and quality of life.
Can you treat low libido, fatigue, and brain fog with hormone therapy?
Often, yes. These symptoms are frequently linked to testosterone, estrogen, thyroid, or cortisol dysregulation. We use labs and history to identify contributors and build a safe, evidence-based treatment plan.
Do you prescribe peptides or other performance-enhancing compounds?
Currently, we do not prescribe unregulated or experimental peptides due to safety and regulatory concerns. We do, however, offer evidence-based alternatives for performance, recovery, and metabolic function. As evidence and efficacy evolves, this is something we will continue to monitor.
Do you test for biological age?
No, we have not found this to be very useful or evidence based. In fact, many of the most common tests will yield vastly different results even when taken from the same person’s blood sample. One day, there might be test that is worthwhile but we don’t believe there is one today.
How often are hormone levels checked while on therapy?
Typically every 8–12 weeks during initiation, then every 3–6 months once stable. We adjust based on clinical symptoms, biomarker response, and patient preference.
Labs, Tech & Monitoring
How do I get lab work done with a virtual practice?
We send lab orders electronically to Quest or coordinate with local partners. You simply go to a nearby collection site or use mobile phlebotomy (if available).
Are labs included in the membership fee?
Labs are included in the Pinnacle Tier. The lowest tier allows the patients to work with their home PCP to order labs. These are better covered by insurance. These labs are uploaded to us by the patient and then we build a plan together.
Can you integrate wearable devices like Oura or
Yes. We pull data from wearables like Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, and Apple Watch to monitor sleep, HRV, recovery, and strain—helping us adjust training, nutrition, and lifestyle in real time.
Do you offer continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)?
Yes. We prescribe CGMs and integrate the data into your metabolic plan. This is especially useful for insulin resistance, weight loss, or performance optimization.
Metabolic Health & Weight Management
Do you prescribe weight loss medications?
Yes. We prescribe GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide), metformin, SGLT2 inhibitors, and other agents based on your metabolic profile. We always pair medications with structured nutrition and strength training to preserve muscle mass. We do also use compounding pharmacies for cost savings. We only use independently certified and inspected compounding pharmacies.
Will I lose muscle while on GLP-1 medications?
Not if we do our job. We emphasize protein intake, resistance training, and lean mass monitoring using DXA scans or validated metrics. Our program is designed to help you lose fat—not muscle. Currently, weight loss from most patients (outside our practice) consists of 30-50% lean muscle loss (relative to weight lost). Our goal is to keep this closer to 10-20%.
What’s different about your weight loss program?
We take a much more broad approach, focusing on sustainable fat loss, lean mass preservation, and metabolic flexibility. It’s not just about the scale—it’s about long-term performance and healthspan.
Do you treat insulin resistance and prediabetes?
Yes. We use fasting insulin, CGMs, glucose tests, and advanced lipid panels to identify insulin resistance early. Our interventions may include dietary changes, medications, or supplements with proven efficacy
Can you help if I’ve already lost weight but regained it?
Absolutely. Many clients come to us after GLP-1 rebound or failed commercial programs. We focus on reestablishing metabolic baseline, lean mass, and habit stability to get you back on track.
Do you work with athletes or tactical professionals trying to cut weight safely?
Yes. We have experience working with performance-driven clients—including military, LEO, and physique athletes—to reduce body fat without compromising performance or recovery.
Nutrition & Training
What is included in your nutrition services?
Our registered dietitians provide custom meal plans, macro/micronutrient optimization, therapeutic diets (e.g., ketogenic, low FODMAP), and gut health strategies. We also provide performance nutrition and supplement guidance based on labs.
Will I get a meal plan or just general advice?
You’ll receive individualized meal plans designed by a dietitian based on labs, preferences, and health status. This is not a templated “eat less, move more” approach—it’s real nutritional therapy.
Do you provide support for gut issues like IBS or SIBO?
Yes. Our team provides elimination diets, gut-healing protocols, and targeted supplement guidance for IBS, bloating, SIBO, or dysbiosis—often missed by conventional care.
What kind of exercise plans do you offer?
We offer strength, endurance, and corrective training programs built by certified trainers and physical therapists. Programming is tailored to your labs, wearables, and goals—whether it’s longevity, VO2 max, or injury recovery.
Can I train while on GLP-1s or HRT?
Yes—and you really need to. We tailor training volume, frequency, and modality based on your hormone profile, recovery status, and medications. We also monitor adaptation through wearable data, if applicable.
What equipment do I need for remote training?
We can design programs using home gyms, bodyweight, resistance bands, or full gym setups. We meet you where you are—then build from there.
